Our goal is to perpetuate public awareness, and stimulate interest in, the historical significance of the period in Jackson County history from the early years up to the 1950's.. A Living History program is planned for Friday, September 24, 2010, from 09:00am to 2:00pm. This program is designed to educate school age children on day to day life of soldiers and civilians between the years of 1560's and 1950's. Emphasis will be placed on the period between 1860 and 1865.

Water and ice will be provided.

Stations for our School Day Program

Good Morning:

Planning for School Day at the Marianna Day Re-enactment 2011 is underway and we would like to have you participate in this program. School Day will be on September 23, 2011 and will be held at the Hinson Tract Park from 9:00 to 2:00 with, what I hope, many interesting historical stations for our local school children. We are going to allow the school children be free-roaming (by group or class) this year so we can provide them with the opportunity to visit as many stations as they can during this 5 hour event.

If you are interested in participating this year, please let me know what you would like to present and approximately how long you will need for your presentation. Also, if you know anyone who would be interested in participating, please give them my email address so we can coordinate. I plan on providing the schools this list before the end of the school year so teachers can put this on their agenda for next near. I will need your information by May 15th.
